"Matricaria thrives on water"

In the Netherlands, a project called 'Innovative, alternative cultivation systems for soil-bound cut flowers' is underway. It focuses on developing low-emission growing systems for these plants. Researchers are testing the floating cultivation of Matricaria. The project builds on earlier research into the floating cultivation of chrysanthemum.

The Matricaria is thriving on the water, as this clip shows. This crop is being developed at the Vertify research center.
