The Dounan Green and Efficient Planting Base of the International Flower Technology Innovation Center is located in Dounan Flower Town. It is an important part of the International Flower Technology Innovation Center. It aims to support the world-class flower industry in Yunnan, and the planting base was planned and designed by the Flower Research Institute of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The base covers a total area of more than 200 mu. At present, it has planned to build a high-standard greenhouse of 33,415 square meters, including a smart agriculture display greenhouse, a green production demonstration greenhouse for potted flowers, a comprehensive demonstration greenhouse, a characteristic flower germplasm resource bank, a new breed nursery greenhouse, a herbal flowers greenhouse, a breeding greenhouse, a green production demonstration greenhouse for cut flowers, and woody flower breeding greenhouse, in total eight greenhouse zones.

The Base is equipped with intelligent greenhouses and equipment, which can carry out technical research and pilot testing of germplasm innovation, molecular breeding, plant physiology, pest control, fertilizer, and water management, green planting, as well as the display and promotion of new varieties and new technologies, training and education, etc. Most of the greenhouses have been completed and put into use before October 2021. In the future, they will cooperate with internationally renowned flower breeding companies from France, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, and Israel to continuously introduce breeding and efficient greenhouse cultivation technologies. They are also committed to introducing new varieties and new technologies at home and abroad and building the Base into a comprehensive demonstration of scientific research, popular science, exhibition, and promotion.
