Kano to expand hibiscus farming and export

The Kano State commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Yusuf Jibrin Rurum, has revealed that the state government has committed a lot of efforts to ensure the expansion of hibiscus flower farming in the state.

It is also set to encourage massive exportation of the flower to earn foreign exchange for individual investors and the state.

The commissioner made this known during an official visit to the largest hibiscus fumigation center in Africa, situated in the state and owned by Mumin Foods and Drugs Limited.

He said the state is happy to see indigenous investors doing well in the exportation of hibiscus flowers, adding that the state government will assist in ensuring that a huge expansion in the business is achieved soon.
