CosMic Plants minimizes energy consumption with IIVO climate computer

In 2020, CosMic Plants was one of the first users of Hoogendoorn's new IIVO process computer. It minimizes energy consumption, says co-founder Neil van Steekelenburg, and helps in greening crop protection. It also optimizes light levels in the greenhouse by combining natural sunlight with screens and guarantees optimal temperature, humidity, ventilation, and irrigation control.

The phalaenopsis grower is of Dutch origin but has been based in Ontario, Canada, since 2004. In their 3.5-hectare greenhouse, thousands of orchids are grown, packaged, and distributed across North America every day. The grower has been a Hoogendoorn customer for many years.
