GreenTech Americas: a resilient industry through challenging times

It's showtime for the GreenTech Americas. Yesterday, on March 21, the event kicked off in Queretaro, Mexico. The tradeshow focuses on the Mexican and North American markets. Both are going through challenging times, but opportunities remain.

Pressing challenges for growers include labor, both workers and growers and of course, ToBRFV. Looking at the bigger picture, the investors' climate has changed. The bankruptcy of SVB earlier this month and the acquisition of Credit Suisse might not directly affect produce businesses but do influence the financial markets. Combined with raging inflation and the struggles several produce companies are facing financially, the enthusiasm for the CEA industry has slowed down quite a bit.

Yet the resilience of the industry is world-famous, and the demand for safely grown produce is still growing. We'll see what the future brings, and we'll keep you updated on the developments in the Mexican market.
