Ebtech Glasshouse Systems have completed the re-roofing in composite sandwich paneling of 1,500 sqm of a widespan four-bay glasshouse at Folkstone Garden Center.
The work was carried out whilst the center continued to operate. Therefore, a close working relationship was key to making it a success.
Removing the existing Polycarbonate roofing sheets, the area was clad in 120mm thick sandwich panels incorporating light panels and the side wall and gable apexes in 80mm.
Health & safety was very well marshaled by our on-site project manager, who dealt with all day-to-day challenges.
The most pleasing thing about the project was the comments passed on by the building control officer when he came to visit the project: "May I take this opportunity to compliment the finish quality of the vast roof, which you removed and replaced with the new roof and all the associated works involved.
"The quality shone through, and today was probably a good day for the final inspection due to the inclement weather to test the roof's integrity, which it sailed through.
"The installation team on site were impeccable, and the Center Manager's conversation reiterated my own opinion that the team had worked throughout in a professional manner and dealt with an open trading center with ease and cooperation with the center staff.
