The Aster season starts in an exceptional way for the Dutch Nursery Zijdezicht from De Lier. They are kicking off the season with no less than two novelties: Olivia and Elise. Both varieties are part of our stall’s assortment.
Olivia & Elise
The assortment of Nursery Zijdezicht, consisting of the varieties Cassandra, Cassy, Claudia, and Monte Cassino, is completed this season with Olivia and Elise. Olivia has dark blue flowers with a yellow center and is supplied under VBN number 128744. Novelty Elise stands out for its soft pink, double flowers. A unique color within the Aster assortment. Elise is supplied under VBN number 128523. Both varieties are particularly strong and will continue to amaze both the trade and the consumer with their floral beauty and shelf life.
Celebrating the start of the season
On Thursday, April 13, customers of Kwekerij Zijdezicht were already able to get acquainted with the new varieties. During a joint tour, Kwekerij Zijdezicht and breeder Royal Van Zanten visited several export companies to celebrate the start of the Aster season. Each exporter received a beautiful mono-bunch of the varieties currently available. This way, they can not only enjoy the cheerful Aster but also immediately discover the novelties.

The product Aster has only recently become part of our assortment. On January 1 of this year, we took over part of the activities of Armada Breeding, including Aster. A valuable addition to our assortment. In the field of cut flowers, we are international leaders in the breeding and propagation of Alstroemeria, Statice, Limonium, Chrysanthemum, and Bouvardia. With the partial acquisition of Armada Breeding, we are adding within the cut flower segment not only Aster but also a number of Chrysanthemum varieties.
