Sea of colors at Open House NIRP Ecuador

On April 13 and 14, NIRP Ecuador's Open House took place at their showcase located in Cayambe, Ecuador. The complete NIRP team was there to welcome the visitors, which were, among others, growers, traders, the Expoflores, partners, and the press. They presented their current and new varieties in arrangements and in the greenhouse. Special attention was given to their new spray rose collection: Rosever® Spray Collection.

What is on display?
Around 25 standard varieties and 15 sprays were on display in very big arrangements. "This is in order to appreciate the quality and beauty of the flowers," and a specific corner was dedicated to their new Rosever spray collection. The visitors also had the opportunity to see the performance of several varieties when dyed. "A beautiful arrangement of blue-dyed Snowballet® was appreciated a lot, this variety is absolutely perfect for dying," says Carlos Castillo, Commercial Director at NIRP Ecuador.

And, of course, the varieties were also presented in their show greenhouse, which is around 8.000 sqm. "Visitors could see 38 varieties and 75 pre-commercial varieties in full blooming. They could evaluate not only the beauty but also the agronomical, technical, and production performances."

Spray rose collection
"Not only new introductions in standard roses but also in sprays with our new Rosever Spray Collection," comments Alessandro Ghione, CEO at NIRP International S.A. "In fact, following the market trends, our research, breeding, and selection program has given special attention to the Spray varieties. The result of years of work and selection is our new, enlarged, exciting assortment of Spray varieties. This new range was named Rosever Spray Collection. It includes many different spray varieties in many colors and shapes of flowers, including very romantic-garden shape flowers. These new spray varieties assure good productivity, shiphability, and long-lasting vase life."

Showstoppers
And this new spray rose collection attracted a lot of attention, as well as Hotspot®, Orange Bowl®, Golden Globe®, Caramel Macchiato®, Desert Rose® Watergame®, and Tropic Versilia®, for example. "The general comments of the visitors were focused on the quality and innovation they found in our varieties, as special colors, garden shape roses, and the new spray collection," says Castillo. "However, at the same time, we, as a breeding company and the visitors, are not forgetting the "base" in the rose business, which is red and white. That's why our red variety Mi Vida® and the white rose Snowballet attracted a lot of attention. Without a doubt, they were the stars of the event."

Large interest
"The interest was large," says Ghione. They welcomed not only their customers, the growers but also traders and Expoflores. "It is very important to show the varieties not only to the growers but also to the traders that are a fundamental conjunction ring in the process that bring a rose from the greenhouse to the final customer. And, of course, it was very important that Expoflores was present, the Ecuadorian producers and exporters association we are part of."

And while enjoying the roses, there was also time to chat and a cup of coffee from the coffee station, tasty food, and drinks. Mr. Castillo concludes, "We like to pamper our customers, and they loved the perfect mix: a professional moment in a very pleasant and warm atmosphere."
