A short while ago, Steenks Service installed a fully automatic Reisopack 2905 strapping machine in its new and customized packaging line for Salm Boskoop. The integration of a new strapping machine into the new packaging line will help Salm Boskoop to save a considerable amount of manual labor from as many as ten employees. In addition, the Reisopack 2905 produces a much tighter end result than wrapping boxes with tape by hand, which was the method previously used.
Salm Boskoop opts for automatic packaging line
Salm Boskoop is a modern nursery that specializes primarily in the cultivation of plants, including lavender, conica, boxwood, deco fruit, ilex, gaultheria, and pinus pinea. The company, now more than 30 years in existence, has grown over the years to include no fewer than nine branches, eight of which are in the Netherlands, with one in Portugal.
The successful company recently decided to fully automate its packaging line, which was previously a largely manual activity. They commissioned Hocuma for the work. Working with Salm Boskoop, Hocuma designed a customized automatic packaging line to help the company package different plants in cardboard boxes. The design incorporates the folding, sealing, and stacking of boxes and the integration of a machine that secures the pallets of boxes.
For quick and easy strapping of the pallets, Hocuma recommended the use of a Reisopack 2905 strapping machine. This fully automatic strapping machine places corner boards on the pallets of boxes, which are then strapped with strong strapping bands. This helps to ensure that every pallet is strapped straight and securely, allowing the lorry to be loaded much more quickly.
