Algae have a negative impact on water quality and can cause blockages in drainage systems. The GenaDome, a new universal cover system for water silos, offers a solution. This seemingly simple but ingenious cover completely covers the water silo. "This prevents algae growth and keeps the water quality optimal," says Roger Vos.
Enthusiastic reception
He is Genap's horticultural specialist and is very pleased with this new addition to the range of water storage systems. In recent months, Genap has already installed a number of GenaDome's in the Benelux and has thus been able to test them properly. Users are unanimously enthusiastic, he says. "The GenaDome offers the grower quite a few advantages. It is an extremely affordable and universally applicable cover system for new and existing water silos, which is a real answer to the algae problem."
No silo construction modification required
The GenaDome consists of a lightweight aluminium frame and a high-quality plastic film cover. "It makes the canopy very suitable for covering silos from 8 to 15 meters, without the need to modify the silo construction. The innovative assembly, in which the lightweight structure is placed in its entirety on the tank using a truck-mounted crane, allows the GenaDome to be installed quickly on both new and existing tanks with only a few helpers."
Stands strong
The GenaDome is a Dutch and sustainable product from A to Z and can be produced quickly. "The frame is supported by a central column. The roof structure is secured and tensioned to the tank wall by means of ratchet straps all around. For easy access to the tank, the GenaDome comes with a manhole as standard. Good weather protection also extends the lifespan of the silo cover."
