Carnation planting season in Isparta under way for the summer harvest

President of the Isparta Chamber of Agriculture, Mustahattin Can Selcuk, visited the carnation growers and planted saplings. President Selcuk gave the message that they stand by every producer that contributes to the country's economy.

In the statement of President Selcuk, "Carnation planting has started in Isparta. On the way to Deregumu and Cunur, we started planting carnations in our greenhouses in parts. I wish all the growers a fruitful and safe season. As the President of the Chamber of Agriculture and the Head of the Provincial Coordination of the Chambers of Agriculture, I would like to thank our greenhouse owners and employees for contributing to the country's economy. Our carnation saplings will grow, and when they grow, they will go on sale to different countries with different colors. It will contribute to the national economy. 90% of the people working in greenhouses are women. I would like to thank our working women and farmers."

The majority of the carnations grown in Isparta are exported to European countries during the summer season. Isparta supplants Antalya as a secondary production area in the region. The harvest in Isparta for carnations starts in summer, which is when the production in Antalya comes to an end. This way, Turkish growers are able to export carnations year-round.
