Surpassing Valentine’s Day for flower orders, Brisbane Flower Market florists are expecting high demand for Mother’s Day at the wholesale flower hub in Rocklea, from both wholesale customers and the general public, with their cold rooms full of flowers in anticipation.
Brisbane Flower Market spokesperson, Luke Leeson, said a range of flowers, including tulips, chrysanthemums, dahlias, carnations, roses, sunflowers, and lisianthus continue to flow into the market ready for Mother’s Day.
“While there are plenty of flowers available for Mother’s Day, to keep bunches cost-effective, we recommend going for florist’s choice seasonal mixes and preferred color schemes rather than specific flowers,” he said.
The Brisbane Flower Market will be trading as usual from 5 am to 3 pm up until Friday, 12 May, and will be extending trading hours over the weekend, open from 6 am to 3 pm on Saturday, 13 May, and 6 am to 1 pm on Sunday, 14 May to ensure no one misses out on flowers for Mum.
