"With a world that is constantly changing, customer requirements never stay the same"

Even though Verdel has now been in the world of flowers and plants for quite some time, innovations on the shop floor never stand still. "With a world that is constantly changing, customer requirements never stay the same either. Continuous innovation keeps not only ourselves but also our customers thriving!"

A great example of how innovation is essential within Verdel concerns 'Bart & Bastian': a full-service consumer brand for high-end retail chains. In 'Bart & Bastian,' the family company's years of experience are perfectly merged with fresh ideas from the new generation. The concept of Bart & Bastian takes care out of the retailer's hands, so the retailer only has to benefit. How it works: the retailer makes sure that the square meters are available, and Verdel then takes care of the entire process (from purchasing, logistics, sales, presentation, and loss of the flower and plant corner). And that all in the consistent look of 'Bart & Bastian.'

An optimal partnership
With every relationship, the family business is committed to an optimal partnership. A partnership on a strategic level in which not only the product is supplied but also the knowledge and insights required to properly market the product. Thus, all their clients can use Verdel's own logistics resources, and market information is eagerly shared, with the aim of increasing sales and reducing risks and costs. The idea behind this way of working is: the customer's success is also Verdel's success.

Working together is winning together
Every day, a passionate group of people dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to delivering on Verdel's promise. Two of those people are Sjors and Frans. Sjors is responsible for purchasing, while Frans focuses more on sales. Both have been active in the flower and plant sector since childhood, and their passion for the trade has not diminished in the meantime. On the one hand, according to the men, this is due to the dynamic nature of the sector; on the other, the pleasant working atmosphere at Verdel also contributes a great deal to this. The fact that it is a family business means that humanity plays an important role on the exporter's shop floor. This allows a lot of interaction between the various departments, making Sjors and Frans well-attuned to each other. "Consultation is important nowadays. Especially in the dynamic world, we move in," says Frans.

At the base
In Verdel's dispatch hall, countless trolleys full of bouquets are ready for transport. Every bouquet contains at least one chrysanthemum. One contains a colorful Madiba, the other a beautiful Santini. But Verdel also frequently uses spray chrysanthemums. According to Sjors and Frans, the fact that the chrysanthemum is such a frequently used flower is mainly due to the volume and shelf life associated with it. "It just has to be a nice bunch of flowers," says Sjors. A personal favorite for Sjors is surely the Madiba line. With a large number of flowers per branch, Madiba is the ideal flower for the bouquets produced by Verdel. But also, a green Peptalk or yellow Aurinko can always be found in Verdel's stock. At Verdel, the chrysanthemum rightfully forms the basis of every bouquet.

Shared ideals
For both Verdel and Dekker, the exchange of knowledge, insights, and mutual feedback is essential for creating an optimal partnership "Alone you go faster, but together you go further." !
