Asocolflores releases two new promotion videos of Flowers of Colombia

Flowers of Colombia: Learn more about production, diversity, and positive social and environmental impact

With 60 species and more than 1,400 varieties, the range of flowers grown in Colombia is not only very diverse but growing them also has a positive social and environmental impact. Recently, Asocolflores launched two promotion videos of Flowers of Colombia in which all these topics are highlighted and explained.

In this 2.5-minute video above, it is shown that the Colombian grown flowers are exported to over 100 countries (with the US being their biggest market) and that 85% of the bouquets sold in the US are made in Colombia. When looking at the labor side of the story, Flowers of Colombia offers formal and fair jobs to more than 200,000 people, with women representing more than half of them, and there is a child-free labor policy. The flowers are grown under strict methods that respect nature and the environment; more than 50% of the water, for example, used in the farms is rainwater, saving millions of liters each year. Soils are regenerating thanks to a 50% reduction in the use of pesticides. On top of that, all year round, the sun provides clean energy. Colombia is the second largest flower exporter in the world and number one in carnations.

The other video is the 1+ minute commercial spot, see above.
