Countdown to National Tulip Day

The opening of the new tulip season will take place on National Tulip Day, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Museumplein in Amsterdam. Tulip Promotion Netherlands (TPN) is once again laying out a picking garden with over 200,000 tulips in different colors. The attending public will have the chance to pick a bunch of tulips for free in the afternoon. This time, the theme of Tulip Day will sic.,

International
TPN chairman Arjan Smit said that "last January, after some 10 years on Dam Square, we celebrated Tulip Day at Amsterdam's Museumplein for the first time. We and the public loved it. We are looking forward to the next edition with great anticipation. Behind the scenes, we are busy working on the creative side and the organization to make sure that, at the very least, the event turns out as cheerful a party as the previous edition. Of course, the goal is for all this cheerfulness to spread over the rest of our country and the world because Dutch tulips are for everyone!"

Music
National Tulip Day will be all about music. Arjan Smit said that "the Museumplein, with its many cultural institutions, will offer plenty of inspiration. Last year, we made a nice reference to the Johannes Vermeer exhibition in the Rijksmuseum, and this time, we are making a connection with music. Of course, this is reflected in the garden design. Other musical tulip surprises are still in development!" TPN's social media channels are also being used to add luster to the start of the new cutting tulip season. Tulip growers, florists, supermarkets, and retailers nationwide are being asked to display the special "It's Time for Tulips" flag again. Due to high demand, TPN has a new stock available. Interested parties can order the flag via www.tulpenpromotie.nl/promotie.
