The gentlemen have known each other for a while, but on October 1, Clemens Wittenberg, Erik Mussche, Kevin Laros, and Tristian Bentvelsen officially started Grow4You. This sales organization primarily markets plant nursery products in Indonesia. They are committed to an exclusive assortment that lets professional growers market unique products and presents botanical wonders to private plant lovers.
Clemens, Kevin, and Tristian. Erik was away at the company in Indonesia.
Last week, Grow4You was officially introduced to the market at its open day, where the partners presented the range. The stage boasted more than 225 varieties, and Clemens, Kevin, and Tristian wasted no time communicating to the outside world either. Several large trading houses like Waterdrinker, OZ, and Hami came to take a look, but smaller traders and several growers also made an appearance. The next day was one for plant lovers who could actually buy plants, too.
600 hoya varieties
Grow4You's roots go back to the 90s and, as mentioned, lie in Indonesia. On West Java, at the foot of the dormant volcano Mount Pangrango, Clemens started a plant nursery that, over the years, grew into a large, thriving supplier of a wide plant range, specifically hoyas.
Production was primarily for the European and American markets. With some 600 varieties, the company, formally called PT Florion, has the most extensive hoya assortment in the world. Special credit goes to Eric, a self-proclaimed plantophile and exclusive plant collector, who joined Clemens in 2002.
Traders and end clients
More recently, they met Kevin and Tristan, who each had a carrier in the international flower sector. The four gentlemen had been coordinating behind the scenes for the last few years, but this spring, at the company in Indonesia, it was decided: we are going to work together.
Grow4You primarily markets PT Florion's assortment, and they are committed to selling exclusive varieties through professional growers and seeking cooperation with existing webshops. The idea is that it must be a balance. B2B, on its own, is too competitive and would not be broad enough.
In this new partnership, Clemens and Erik remain responsible for production in Indonesia. At the same time, Tristain will mainly focus on tapping new B2B lines and Kevin on the consumer market, web shops, and marketing. The open day featured an exquisite assortment of hoyas, as well as aglaonema, Scindapsus, and piper varieties. There was plenty of interest, and definite talks with several growers are also ongoing. In short, there will undoubtedly be more news about this.
