Reusing drainage water in hydroponic crops

The decline in water availability and costs associated with obtaining water has led to many growers reducing their cultivation areas or switching to less water-dependent crops. This has underscored the importance of not wasting hydroponic crop drainage more than ever.

“The Azud Watertech RW reuse plant makes it possible to treat and reuse drainage water for horticultural applications. Being available in skid-mounted or containerized configurations, it offers multiple benefits, such as increased water availability, allowing an increase in irrigated hectares by recovering up to 40% of the initially supplied water. Nutrient optimization with the ability to recover up to 30% of the initially supplied nutrients, as well as a reduction of input water, environmental impact, and pathogen infections.”

The Azud Watertech RW water treatment plant includes a water filtration system with disc technology and Azud Helix Automatic AA air-assisted automatic cleaning.

“Furthermore, at AZUD, we also offer advanced irrigation solutions using emitting pipes equipped with drippers that incorporate self-compensating and anti-draining technology. These drippers are ideal for efficient water use and represent the best solution for pulse irrigation, ensuring a uniform and efficient water distribution directly to the plant roots.”
