Lazzeri launches new catalogue ‘Cyclamen and Chrysanthemums Collection 2024’:

"This new tray allows us to offer growers better cyclamen young plants”

For about one year now, Lazzeri has been supplying their cyclamen young plants in a new tray, namely a thermoformed, black-and-white, 66-hole tray. Designed and produced together with Modiform, the young plants are more spaced apart, resulting in better conditions during transport, and the plants can stay in the tray for a longer time before transplanting. Now all cyclamen are being delivered in this tray, and Lazzeri just released their new catalogue, 'Cyclamen and Chrysanthemums Collection 2024.'

Friedhelm Krackhardt, Head of Production, and the tray

Cultivation method and tray
Besides this tray, the cultivation method of this Italian breeder and young plant producer involves manual selection and transplanting, uniform air, water, and light conditions. This, together with the 66-hole tray, allows us to offer a homogenous, high-quality product that fully meets our customer's needs."

The Lazzeri team is very pleased with the new tray and the results. "At the cultivation stage, there are no big differences, but the young plants are being transported in better conditions. In turn, if necessary, the plants can stay in the trays for a longer time before transplanting. And this is a big advantage too. We know that it is not always possible for growers to transplant large quantities of cyclamen on the same day of arrival, so keeping the plants spaced apart allows air and light to enter, thus avoiding possible diseases and elongation of the plant. On top of that, we created micro-footings in each cell to make sure the excess water went away and opted for a white tray, which warms the plants less during the summer."
