Just a few dozen kilometres away from the tense border with Russia, a remarkable event unfolded. The first-ever during the two-year war, the traditional Chrysanthemum Ball was unveiled in Kharkiv eco-park. Amidst the golden autumn, visitors can not only enjoy the colours of nature but also feel the healing of its power. The vibrant floral spectacle in Kharkiv continues to delight visitors, with the weather allowing this enchanting display to extend until November. This festival has captured the attention not only of Kharkiv residents but also visitors from other regions.
Multicoloured chrysanthemums of Ukrainian and Dutch varieties bloomed in flowerbeds, animal figures, and fairy-tale characters, creating a floral fairy tale. This year, florists planted 12 thousand flowers in the eco-park, which, though only a fifth of the usual quantity, impresses with its beauty and meticulous preparation.
Preparations for this festival took months, including demining the territory and cleaning up debris.
Despite the eco-park being in the "grey" zone for half a year, remaining littered with munitions, the Chrysanthemum Ball has become a bright beginning for a new stage in the life of the eco-park. The territory is not fully demined yet, but this does not hinder people from enjoying the beauty of nature and the breathtaking spectacle. Visitors have a unique opportunity to admire the flowers.
The Chrysanthemum Ball in Kharkiv has become a true gift for nature and beauty enthusiasts, as well as a symbol of the revival of eco-parks that have endured challenging times.
