Hortilife opens new branch in Mexico

Hortilife recently opened its new branch in Mexico. The official opening is planned for March 11, 2024, just before GreenTech Americas, but the branch is operational already. This move is part of the Dutch horticultural technology supplier's expansion in Latin America.

With this branch, Hortilife wants to expand its client base and offer improved service to its existing regional customers. The office is in Terra Park Centenario, Queretaro, conveniently located near important horticultural areas and distributors.

Jordin van Weert and Pieter-Jan Overkamp

Growing need for sustainable horticultural technology
Mexico is known for its rich agricultural tradition and has a flourishing horticultural sector. "However, water and resource scarcity are becoming increasingly problematic", says Pieter-Jan Overkam. "It is, thus, becoming more and more critical for horticultural producers to employ sustainable technologies that utilize and reuse water efficiently."

"Thanks to our innovative irrigation systems, nanobubble technology, and ECA units, Hortilife can assist in reducing water use and optimizing greenhouse cultivation conditions. With the help of UV disinfection and/or Ultra-filtration, you can recycle irrigation water. That has rarely been done before. These green technologies not only increase yields but also reduce chemical and water use and contribute to a sustainable horticultural sector."

Customer service and support
By opening this new Mexican branch, Hortilife aims to provide its clients with high-value service. The team consists of experienced professionals, including Jordin van Weert, who, together with local distributors, will work closely with horticultural producers to provide customized solutions. Jordin lives in Queretaro.

The new office will also serve as a spare parts distribution center, resulting in faster supply times and more efficient logistics. That is especially important for horticultural producers who depend on functioning equipment to protect their crops from adverse weather conditions.

Working with local partners
Hortilife works closely with local partners like Tapsa, Negocios Fluidos, and Sercom to offer its products and services to horticultural producers in Mexico. That synergy lets them respond quickly to customer needs while building valuable relationships within the industry.

Expo in Irapuato
Hortilife will be at the GreenTech Expo in Irapuato (November 7-10) at dealer Tapsa's stand. This trade show offers horticultural professionals a platform to share knowledge and discover the latest trends and technologies. Hortilife will demonstrate the Vortex Nano Bubble unit, among others. This lets growers improve their greenhouse water management and optimize optimal greenhouse cultivation conditions.

Expansion plans
Opening this Mexican branch places Hortilife in a good position to expand further in Latin America. The company still focuses on developing sustainable horticultural technologies that help horticultural producers worldwide make more efficient use of resources and achieve higher yields.

At a time when water issues are becoming increasingly urgent, Hortilife's goal is to play a vital role in supporting sustainable horticultural products and creating resilient food systems.
