MDK's Beautanic Lifestyle plant concept spreads its wings

MDK Flowers & Greens is rapidly expanding in Europe with the Beautanic Lifestyle plant concept. Last week, the concept was launched in a store of France's number 1 garden center, Jardiland, in the town of Villabé, and nine more of the 180 other Jardiland stores are set to follow this month. Beautanic Lifestyle first crossed borders two years ago (to Oh'Green, in Belgium), and then others quickly followed. At present, the concept has already been introduced to garden centers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK, Italy, and France.

"Beautanic Lifestyle is becoming an increasingly familiar brand, and we are receiving enthusiastic responses from garden centers," says Jamie Duijnisveld, marketing & communications manager at MDK. "For instance, Maarten of Tuincentrum Ockenburgh says: "It's a solid concept, and it's paying off. It's a big hit every week, and we're happy with it! It has proven its worth, and we are placing orders every week." Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht of Intratuin also speaks highly of it: "We see that sales are doing well, and we have doubled the space allocated to it within a month."

Beautanic Lifestyle
Beautanic Lifestyle is a sustainable plant concept with a unique watering system. The plants grow on volcanic granules. Volcanic granules are 100% natural and sustainable, and since they do not decompose, they are theoretically always reusable. Compared to peat in potting soil, volcanic granules reduce CO2 emissions by a whopping 92%. Each plant is in a special hydro pot with a watering system that is made from recycled materials. Thanks to the water meter and water reservoir, plant care is made easier, which increases the plant's lifespan.
