FleuraMetz goes Down Under

On May 1, FleuraMetz will open a new Cash & Carry in Brisbane, Australia. It will be housed on the premises of trading company Flowerlink Old, which FleuraMetz has been doing business with for some time. Dutchman Bas Kamp, who led Flowerlink, will be in charge of the new Fleurametz branch. Flowerlink will be integrated into FleuraMetz.

FleuraMetz has seen strong growth in Ecuador. From there, new markets can be accessed, such as Australia. "From our location in Quito, we've been supplying to the continent for about two years now," says FleuraMetz market expert Andrew Visser. "We've even had some shipments from the Netherlands. It can take flowers 48 to 72 hours to get there, but the infrastructure is in place."

Furthermore, 'the experience and knowledge of the two native Australian companies, Petals Peddlers and Flowerlink, together with the economies of scale that FleuraMetz offers, enables an efficient and personal approach of the Australian market', the exporter reports in a press release.
