NL: Veggie greenhouse now blooms with roses

Interplant Roses has transformed a vegetable greenhouse into a rose greenhouse. The rose grower from Harmelen purchased an existing greenhouse that was previously used for vegetables. Together with DLVge, half of this greenhouse's area was converted into a breeding greenhouse for roses.

In 2023, an additional section was built. During this project, they installed new partition walls, the heating system got expanded, and they also mounted a new screen.

Since the energy prices significantly increased in 2021, DLVge also notes a rise in the number of horticultural businesses that have ceased operations, reversing the trend of previous years when more entrepreneurs entered the industry. Running a profitable business has become an increasingly larger challenge. This has resulted in a rise in the number of acquisitions and more vacancies.
