With Memorial Day weekend just around the corner, many people are looking to get outside and into the garden.

"It's all at once. And here it is. People were ready for it, because with the mild winter, it never felt like it was winter, so when spring finally did hit, people were after it. And they got on it early, and started doing things early," said McShaw.
McShaw says the planting season in the area is about 10 days ahead of schedule. From peppers, to beans, he says there are plenty of vegetables to choose. Maggie Storey and her husband Rich Storey, of Sherwood, picked some tomato plants Tuesday morning.
