Karaman Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Hatice Bulut visited Gursel Caglar, one of the largest peony growers in the country, who produces in the Suduragi district together with Omer Koka, the plant production branch manager.
Provincial Director Hatice Bulut received detailed information about peony production and the market from the grower Gursel Caglar and thanked the grower for his contribution to production and showed him as an example of an income-generating entrepreneur in rural areas. Producing 1.5 million stems of flowers annually, Gursel Caglar, one of the biggest producers in the country, sells the flowers between 1.5 to 3 USD each depending on the color and market conditions.
Peony flowers, which are in high demand in the domestic market, are also in demand in the foreign markets. Provincial Director Bulut said that studies will be carried out to increase the production and number of growers of peonies in the city and that they hope their city will be known for the production of peonies both in domestic and foreign markets.
