NL: Leo van der Harg expands with 1.9 ha of cultivation area

Leo van der Harg Pot Rose Nursery in Vierpolders (the Netherlands) is expanding its greenhouse by 1.9 hectares, growing its cultivation area to over 5 hectares. The company hopes to be in production by the beginning of next year.

The new facility is located next to the existing facility and will be connected through two passages. The processing, including the loading dock, cooling cells and machinery, will also move to the new building. The space will be optimally utilized by introducing a double cultivation layer above the processing area. The old barn will make room for a new cutting robot and the (mechanical) spacing of the plants.

The Van der Harg brothers, Wouter and Pieter, took over the business from their father more than three years ago.

Leo van der Harg cultivates an assortment of pot roses from the Kordana series by Kordes, currently producing about 5.5 million pot roses annually. The production is planned to be increased next year.
