US: Society of American Florists to host webinar on tariffs

The Society of American Florists (SAF) will host a virtual event, 2025 Outlook: Policy Impacts and Economic Insights, on January 29 at 2 p.m. EST to provide floral industry professionals with insights and guidance on how potential new tariffs, policies and economic trends could impact their businesses.

The event comes after President Donald Trump's recent announcement of 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, as well as a 10% tariff on imports from China, set to take effect on February 1. Federal agencies have also been instructed to review trade relations, potentially leading to additional tariffs on other countries later this year. If enacted, new tariffs are expected to have far-reaching impacts to the U.S. economy and the global floral industry.

To help navigate these potential changes, SAF Senior Lobbyist Joe Bischoff, Ph.D will share his insights on the complexities surrounding the tariff announcements and their potential impact on the floral industry. SAF's Chief Economist Charlie Hall will provide an economic outlook, looking at inflation, consumer spending and other economic indicators that will shape the floral industry's landscape in 2025.

This event offers an exclusive opportunity to hear from two leading experts and help floral business prepare for what's ahead.

This virtual event is free and open to all SAF members. Non-SAF members can join for $9.99. Learn more and register here.
