Nursery Vantyghem from Belgium is starting a pilot project to grow duckweed, reports VRT. Starting this week, duckweed has been allowed to be sold from Europe as food for humans. Nursery Vantyghem has been growing flowers since 1985, but also sees the potential of duckweed. "On paper it is a very useful product, but it still needs to be put into practice. We are now going to build a 500-meter water basin. There must be no pesticides in it. It has to be grown up as well and naturally as possible."
