Like the entire agricultural sector, the lily industry is facing challenges and undergoing societal changes. Political attention is also being directed towards the development and transformation of the industry, both nationally and internationally. During the opening of the Dutch Lily Days in 2025, Sjaak van der Tak, the former chair of the LTO, will deliver a speech. Van der Tak served as chair of the organization from 2021 to 2024 and was involved in the negotiations for the agricultural agreement that ultimately did not materialize.
With this experience, Van der Tak has a deep understanding of the societal challenges facing the sector. During the opening, he will specifically address the lily industry and the remarkable steps that breeders, growers, and exporters are already taking to build a sustainable future in the Netherlands and beyond.
An international experience
During the Dutch Lily Days, professionals from around the world convene in the Netherlands to explore developments and innovations in the lily industry and engage in discussions with participating lily bulb exporters. Building on the impact of previous years, thousands of visitors are expected to visit the 13 Dutch participants. There, they can engage in discussions with these major international players and anticipate influential trends and changes in the coming period.
Spectacular creations
On June 3, De Jong Lelies will welcome visitors starting at 9:30 AM, with its lilies already on display. The official opening ceremony will commence around 10:30 AM. Throughout the day, expert flower artist Paul Wijkmeijer will be present to craft spectacular arrangements using the pollen-free Liber Lilies.
