IFTEX 2025 comes to an end

Kenya: Summer flowers continue to gain momentum

Today marks the final day of IFTEX 2025. Yesterday, the second day of the expo, began with the Tech for Breakfast event, organized by Chrysal and Lima Labs AI. Held before the official start of the expo at the Visa Oshwal Centre, the event opened with a yummy breakfast that created a warm and engaging atmosphere.

Following the meal, attendees took part in an insightful panel discussion on how technology is reshaping the floriculture industry. The session drew over 100 growers and other key players from across the floral supply chain, all eager to explore tech-driven innovations shaping the future of the sector

Around 10am, the doors of the expo opened for the second day and the halls quickly filled up with visitors again. One of the things that stands out is how more and more rose breeders are also looking for new markets. NIRP for example is coming up with a line of other crops, not related to roses, because of the increase of demand on fillers. The market for roses seems to be stabilizing and summer flowers are coming up.
