Horticulture professionals can discover the latest flower varieties at the annual "Flower Trials Field Day," organized by Penn State Extension. The event will feature the Penn State Flower Trials, displaying nearly 1,000 samples of annual and perennial plants submitted by 30 international companies.

The event will occur from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 24, at Penn State's Southeast Agricultural Research and Extension Center, 1446 Auction Road, Manheim.

The field day is designed for greenhouse growers; nursery and landscape professionals; retail greenhouse operators; greenhouse industry brokers and sales personnel; allied trades personnel; botanic garden personnel; and extension and university staff. According to organizers, the event will provide opportunities to network with industry representatives and connect with customers.

The sessions will cover a range of topics, including new varieties of annuals and perennials, cutting-edge information from breeders, disease management, and pesticide safety.

Organizers ask that participants register by July 22, but walk-ins are welcome. The registration fee is $65 and covers morning refreshments and a buffet lunch.
