June was marked not only by the NATO summit but also by peak trading activity at Royal FloraHolland.
The total auction turnover for the month reached €142,815,626, representing a 16.1% decrease compared to June 2024. Interestingly, the number of products sold via the auction clock was actually up by 11.2%, totaling 398,798,851 items.
However, the average price per unit dropped significantly to €0.36, a 24.6% decline year-on-year. Last year's prices were considerably higher due to adverse weather conditions — with a delayed start to summer, demand stayed strong and prices remained elevated. This June, prices fell just above 2023 levels.
Results
Compared to June 2024, there were 8.1% fewer auction (clock) trolleys and 18.5% fewer direct sales trolleys delivered. According to Royal FloraHolland, this decline is likely due to more efficient loading, changes in packaging materials, and order picking methods that allow multiple auction groups to be combined on a single trolley.
The total number of auction transactions came in just under 2 million, which is more than 300,000 fewer than in June 2024.
Despite the decline in volume, delivery reliability remained very high last month, with 99.8% of transactions completed without complaints.
