Dutch garden plant company Yarinde has introduced a new online tool that allows garden lovers in the Netherlands and Belgium to receive a personalized planting plan—completely free and ready within minutes. Based on the user's specific preferences and garden conditions, the tool generates a unique combination of perennials and ornamental grasses tailored to their space.
"We work with multiple layers," explains Jop Reijntjes, Head of IT at Yarinde. "The AI layer creates the creative combinations, but the plant expertise of our in-house specialists is just as essential. That's how we make sure each planting plan is not only original, but also practical and ecologically sound."
The intelligent tool analyzes key factors such as soil type, sun or shade exposure, and color preferences, then instantly translates that information into a visually clear and horticulturally accurate border design. The result is a unique planting plan that can be directly implemented in the garden.
Next step: more layers in the border
Although the tool currently focuses on perennials and ornamental grasses, Yarinde is already working on future expansions. "In the next phase, we'll be adding ornamental shrubs and, for example, standard trees to the border tool," says Reijntjes. "This will allow customers to create fully layered planting schemes—from groundcovers all the way up to columnar trees."
From design to delivery in one click
In addition to the planting design, Yarinde gives users the option to add all suggested plants to their shopping cart with a single click. The complete plant packages are then delivered directly to customers' homes across the Netherlands and Belgium—complete with care tips via Yarinde's mobile app and planting guidance.
