Construction of second indoor propagation room for new greenhouse

At Fred van Paassen Chrysanten in Andijk, The Netherlands, the second indoor propagation room is currently being realized for the newly built 4.5-hectare greenhouse, shares Rudy van den Berg on behalf of Priva via LinkedIn. The first propagation room was constructed in 2020 and offered a net cultivation area of 1,100 m². The next phase will add no less than 1,700 m². Priva partner Green Simplicity is developing and building this propagation solution in collaboration with the partners of GreenV. The innovative climate system—consisting of an air handling unit (AHU) with crossflow heat exchangers, outside air intake, and integrated heat pumps—is controlled by Priva Horticulture software, developed together with Green Simplicity and Wagenaar Refrigeration.

This method of indoor chrysanthemum propagation makes it possible to produce uniform, more vigorous plants year-round. Ultimately, this leads to higher production in the greenhouse (production phase), where the plants grow into beautiful cut flowers.
