The Society of American Florists' (SAF) 140th annual convention, SAF Phoenix 2025, brought together more than 450 floral professionals from across the country, Aug. 11–14 in Phoenix, Arizona.

On Aug. 13, the Stars of the Industry Awards Ceremony celebrated individuals and organizations who have made a lasting impact on the floral industry, along with the winners of the Outstanding Varieties and Sylvia Cup Competitions.

The Society of American Florists celebrated the achievements of various individuals and organizations at their 140th annual convention. The SAF President's Award was bestowed upon Lorraine Cooper, AAF, AIFD, PFCI, NDSF, while Patricia Knight, Ph.D., was honored with the Gold Medal Award. Rick Long received the Alex Laurie Award for Research and Education, and the John H. Walker Award was presented to Judy D. Laushman. Jackie Lacey, AAF, AIFD, CFD, PFCI, was recognized with the Tommy Bright Award. Dianna Nordman, AAF, was the recipient of the Paul Ecke Jr. Award. The Rising Star Award went to Sam Bowles, AAF, and Sahid Nahim. The Floriculture Hall of Fame inducted Augusto Solano, AAF. In the Sylvia Cup Design Competition, Judy Janzen, AIFD, CCF, emerged victorious. Kennedy's Flowers & Gifts was named Marketer of the Year, and the Outstanding Varieties Best in Show accolade went to Ranunculus 'Moderna Dolce'. Additionally, new members were inducted into the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) and Professional Floral Communicators – International (PFCI).
