Gardenpalms Europe declared bankrupt

On August 19, Gardenpalms Europe B.V. was declared bankrupt (link in Dutch). Mr. J.S. van Burg has been appointed as administrator.

Based in Erica, the Netherlands, the company specialized in cultivating, importing, and exporting cold-hardy palms and exotic plants suited to the European climate. Gardenpalms scoured the globe in search of the most winter-hardy Trachycarpus fan palms, developing robust plants well adapted for European gardens. They also imported frost-tolerant feather palms such as the Butia from South America, while their greenhouses produced large quantities of seedlings for international clients.
