At 7:00 this morning, the doors opened to the Plantarium|Groen-Direkt trade show in the Netherlands. The fair hosts 230 stands, thousands of directly available sample lots, and shines a spotlight on new product introductions to kick off the autumn season.

Expectations are high for this edition. Even before the show started, growers and suppliers had already been busy sharing their latest innovations and news. Today, on the first day, the Green Retail Awards will be presented for Best Novelty and Best Market Innovation. The award for Visitor's Favorite will follow tomorrow, just before the fair closes.

This year, visitors are welcomed in a special way. The entrance has been transformed into a living hedge, made up of dozens of brand-new products. Everyone walks through this display, immediately getting a taste of the latest offerings and seasonal highlights. Beyond that, the fair follows its familiar format: on one side of the central aisle, visitors find the 230 exhibitor stands, while on the other side they can browse thousands of Groen-Direkt's sample lots.

The first day of the fair runs until 17:00. Our Dutch sister publication BPnieuws is also present (stand N331), bringing along their new guides, some traditional Zeeuwse babbelaars sweets, and of course a camera to capture the atmosphere on the show floor.
