Open day at Dutch gerbera grower: Discover what’s possible with smart water management

On Tuesday afternoon, September 23, 2025, ErfGoed is hosting an open day at Kwekerij De Zuidplas. Growers and other interested visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at the realization of this innovative project. Together with several water management partners, ErfGoed will demonstrate what future-proof water management looks like in practice.

At Kwekerij De Zuidplas, a total of 7.7 hectares of gerbera cultivation is equipped with the ErfGoed water system. This includes liquid fertilizer storage and dosing technology, ultrafiltration for water disinfection and multiple pump units that ensure optimal cultivation of cut gerberas. In addition, the new greenhouse is equipped with an ErfGoedFloor.

During the afternoon, presentations will be given by Kwekerij De Zuidplas, Van Iperen and ErfGoed. Visitors will gain insight into the journey from vision to realization, discover how different technologies complement each other, and have the opportunity to engage directly with specialists from various suppliers. The open day will conclude with informal drinks, providing ample space for networking and exchanging experiences.

Registration for the open day is available at the link here.
