Russia to build plant greenhouse as part of first bio-cluster

A greenhouse for tropical and subtropical plants with an area of about 330 square meters will open at VDNKh, and will form part of Russia's first bio-cluster. There will be guided tours of the site, as well as workshops, lectures and other events. Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, gave more details.

The new space will be arranged in the southern part of the square at the intersection of Khovanskaya Street and the ring road. Pavilions No. 516, Books, operated by the Rosizo Museum and Exhibition Center and No. 312 are located nearby.

The greenhouse is scheduled to open in 2026. Specialists will create a climate zone in which temperature, humidity and other indicators will be regulated automatically. A separate laboratory will also be set up for classes on plant research and cultivation. An open-air lecture area will be created nearby. Birch, cherry, rowan, spruce, pine, willow and juniper trees will be planted around it.

Another greenhouse on the territory of VDNKh is now open to visitors. It has been working since 1959 in Pavilion 14, Computer Science and Information Technology (former the Azerbaijan SSR Pavilion). There visitors can see olives, pomegranates, persimmons and other crops growing.
