Genesis Plant Marketing

A look at recent successes and winners

Genesis Plant Marketing recently had a booth at Plantarium|Groen-Direkt in Holland, which provided an excellent opportunity for Nigel and Carl to network, catch up with people, and show off some new plants from Genesis.

One plant that caught the eye of Mr Plant Geek Michael Perry was Verbena 'Lavender Lace', which then donned a "Plant Geek Faves" placard. 'Lavender Lace' boasts foliage that varies from green-bronze to red-purple under different lighting conditions and delicate magenta-purple flowers on tall stems with a long flowering season.

Meanwhile the company's partners at Kolster bv – Magical Garden Plants, also found themselves being admired by Mr Plant Geek, with Nepeta 'Magical Mr Blue Sky' also donning a "Plant Geek Faves" placard. And later found themselves with a Green Retail Award bronze medal for the gorgeous Diervilla 'Magical Starry Night'.

As if that wasn't enough to celebrate, Genesis' partners at Plantipp bv also won a Gold medal for the glorious, color-changing Molinia 'Banshee' which shifts in color from deep purple to red and pinkish white in summer, to a warm orange-yellow in autumn, and retains ornamental value through winter too.

Just one week later, Nigel and Lizzy travelled to Four Oaks Trade Show in the UK, with no booth they were free to 'float' around the show, take it all in ourselves, and network and catch up with UK suppliers and growers.

They were delighted to learn that Kernock Park Plants won Best Herbaceous Perennial with the ever jaw-dropping Miscanthus 'Lady in Red', which commands attention and adds serious color to borders, mixed plantings, or as a standalone focal point.
