Finances, rate system and new campaign discussed at Royal FloraHolland members meeting

A Members' Council meeting took place on Thursday, September 18, with the Members' Council, the executive board, and the chair and vice-chair of the Supervisory Board in attendance. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss current topics in greater depth.

In the morning session, Marcel van der Lugt, chair of the Members' Council, met with council members to address signals received from members. Following this, Evert van Helvoort, chair of the Supervisory Board, provided a brief update on temporary changes in management.

David van Mechelen then presented an overview of the company's position on several issues, including finances, advance announcements of indicative rates (with final rates to be set on December 11), and prospects for 2026. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to a substantive discussion about the rate system and possible adjustments.

The various aspects of the rate system were discussed in groups, resulting in constructive exchanges and valuable input. This input will contribute to the development of a new rate model, expected to take effect from 2027, that will better reflect the diversity among growers.

As part of the initiative "Strengthening the cooperative," a new campaign has been launched under the title Together we are strong. This campaign encourages reflection on what connects members today and the reasons for being part of the cooperative. These themes will be explored further during Member Sessions and on Cooperative Day.

An informal Members' Council meeting is scheduled for October 9, during which topics such as the Code of Conduct and the role of Royal FloraHolland in Public Affairs will be examined in more detail.
