Two weeks ago, the first maritime shipment of live ornamental plants from Colombia departed the Port of Santa Marta bound for the United States, marking a historic milestone for the country's nursery sector with the successful customs clearance at destination. This pioneering export operation was led by Antioquia-based company Aldebaran S.A.S., with logistical support from K&M Handling Colombia and Seaboard Marine, and the cooperation of local port authorities.

The shipment included a carefully selected range of ornamental species cultivated under stringent phytosanitary standards, ensuring quality and compliance with international regulations. This achievement is the result of a collaborative effort among producers, exporters, logistics operators, and regulatory agencies, all working together to boost the internationalization of Colombia's nursery industry.
