Red Lands Roses SEZ PLC will host a milestone event on October 14, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at its Ruiru Farm. The event will bring together key government agencies, including the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), alongside the Kenya Flower Council, industry stakeholders, and the media.
Marking one year since its transition into a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Red Lands Roses will showcase how SEZ incentives have catalysed business growth, enhanced innovation, and created new opportunities for Kenya's floriculture sector. With the theme, "Transition of Red Lands Roses into SEZ and the Floriculture Industry in Kenya," the event will highlight progress and tangible benefits of SEZ.
Over the past year, Red Lands Roses has invested €7.5 million in developing high-quality infrastructure, including a sustainable hydroponic system and expanded solar power capacity. This growth has generated 500 new jobs in an urbanizing area, offering competitive salaries nearly twice the KPAWU CBA rate, as well as comprehensive benefits such as private medical care, school fee support, hot meals, and bicycles for staff transport.
"Our 36-hectare high-value flower farm contributes significantly to Kenya's foreign exchange earnings," says Disha Copreaux, CEO of Red Lands Roses. "This milestone not only reflects Red Lands Roses' commitment to excellence but also showcases the transformative role SEZs play in boosting Kenya's floriculture industry. We are proud to be leading the way in shaping a sustainable and competitive future for the sector."
