Montecarlo celebrates its National Orchid Festival with record participation

The city of Montecarlo, renowned for its orchid production, is hosting the 34th National Orchid Festival and the 41st Provincial Flower Festival from October 8 to 12 at Juan Vortisch Park. The event draws thousands of visitors and showcases ongoing innovation in local floriculture.

According to Paula Lafere, Montecarlo's Director of Tourism, this year's edition has exceeded expectations: "We had more than 450 orchid plants on display in the pavilion — large, high-quality specimens," she noted. The fair achieved a record of 130 exhibitor stands, including over 40 dedicated to plants and flowers, with participants coming from provinces such as Chaco, Corrientes, and Santa Fe.

The Misioflor Cooperative played a key role in managing the flower pavilion, recognized for its contribution to the fair's landscape and design quality. The event also delivered a significant economic impact, as Lafere highlighted:

"A week before the opening, local accommodation was already at 90% occupancy."
Held at the historic Juan Vortisch Park, the six-hectare venue has been promoting Montecarlo's tourism for nearly nine decades, remaining a cornerstone for regional floriculture development.

Throughout the festival, attendees can participate in more than 15 training sessions covering topics such as bamboo cultivation, edible flowers, and mushrooms, encouraging knowledge exchange and diversification among producers.

With favorable weather and strong attendance, over 6,000 visitors had already passed through the park in the festival's first days, according to Lafere.
