Dutch Greenhouse Systems has officially been declared bankrupt, and there will be no restart. In an interview with a local news medium owner Joost Bogaard explained that the bankruptcy is the result of difficult market conditions. As a specialist in water and electrical systems for greenhouse construction, the company depends on new greenhouse projects to keep work flowing. However, with many investors postponing projects due to uncertainty in the market, opportunities have become scarce. Bogaard sees little hope for improvement next year, which ultimately led to the decision to file for bankruptcy.
The company employed four people, all of whom had previously worked for another greenhouse construction firm that was also forced to shut down. "Behind those four employees are four families. That's what hits me the hardest," Joost told Omroep West.
