UK: Horsham MP visits green plant nursery in West Sussex

A plant nursery's sustainable approach has been witnessed first-hand by an MP. Horsham MP John Milne visited Old Barn Nurseries in Dial Post, which operates entirely peat-free.

The 11-acre site, alongside the A24, produces hundreds of thousands of plants per year on the three-acre nursery. As well as supplying Tates' garden centres across Sussex, the plants are sold further afield.

Mr Milne met Benjamin Tate, executive director of the nursery. Mr Tate explained the investment in rainwater harvesting and storage, highlighting the nursery's commitment to environmentally responsible growing practices.

He said: "We were delighted to welcome John Milne MP, show him our nursery, and highlight both the challenges we face and the sustainable innovations driving our business forward."
