American rose breeder Jackson & Perkins has announced its 2026 rose introductions.
"Year after year, we honor the artistry and legacy of rose breeding while continuing to innovate for the modern gardener," said Kelly Funk, president and CEO of Jackson & Perkins. "Our 2026 introductions are a reflection of that legacy: roses with story, soul, and staying power."
At the heart of the 2026 Library of Roses is Ruffled Romance, the final creation from hybridizer Dr. Keith Zary. This exquisite floribunda opens in warm tones of golden yellow and apricot before maturing into a soft pink, revealing new beauty with every bloom cycle. With its large four-inch flowers, moderate fragrance, and strong disease resistance, Ruffled Romance stands as both a tribute and a promise—symbolizing the enduring artistry of rose breeding.
The Vault Collection returns for 2026, offering a limited-edition selection of beloved historic hybrids that capture the nostalgia and character of classic rose gardens. Among these treasures is Billy Graham, a hybrid tea known for its grand five-inch blooms, ideal for cutting and floral design. Fragrant Memory, first introduced by Jackson & Perkins in 1974, remains a timeless favorite with its classic rose form and signature perfume.
Adding a global dimension, the Roses from Around the World collection celebrates international breeding excellence. Flash Gordon commands attention with its brilliant golden blooms that reach five inches across, a vigorous five-foot growth habit, and its appeal to pollinators. Sealed with a Kiss brings a modern edge to the lineup, featuring velvety, nearly black buds, impressive disease resistance, and undeniable sophistication.
For those who revere history, the Old Garden Rose Collection revives the romance of pre-1900 varieties. Lady Hillingdon, with its deep apricot-yellow buds, purple new shoots, and sweet fragrance, offers beauty and approachability for gardeners of all levels. Lamarque, a graceful climbing rose with pale yellow rosettes and a gentle lemon scent, can reach heights of up to twelve feet. Completing this nostalgic trio is Monsieur Tillier, a tea rose first introduced in 1891, whose large, dahlia-like blooms shift between salmon, carmine, and orange depending on the weather.

Recognizing the challenges faced by northern gardeners, Jackson & Perkins introduces the Cold-Hardy Roses collection—varieties bred to flourish in Zones 2 through 4 while retaining the elegance of more temperate roses. AC Navy Lady, a compact Zone 3 shrub rose, features nearly black buds that open into deep, velvety red flowers. J.P. Connell, hardy to Zone 2, is prized for its thornless stems and continuous display of soft yellow blooms throughout the summer.
"The 2026 Library of Roses embodies what makes our brand timeless: craftsmanship, legacy, and love for the garden," said Funk. "Every rose tells a story, and we're honored to share these new chapters with gardeners everywhere."
