The air inside Dalsimer Atlas Floral & Event Decorators is cool and sweet, touched by the scent of hundreds of roses waiting to be arranged. In the back of the shop, florists move quickly, cutting stems and matching shades, while in another room a team tests lighting rigs and arranges drapes for a weekend wedding.
For nearly a decade, the Dalsimer family operated a location in Boca Raton, including a floral shop inside The Boca Raton resort, before consolidating operations at their two-story headquarters on West Newport Center Drive in Deerfield Beach. From there, they now serve clients from Miami to Port St. Lucie, creating scenes of color and light for weddings, mitzvahs, galas, and corporate events.
At the center of it all are Shaun, David, and James Nebenzahl — generations working side by side in a family business that began more than a century ago in New York. The story started in 1918, when Philip T. Dalsimer opened a small flower shop on Long Island. Through the decades, the Dalsimers carried that craft south, blending tradition with the changing tastes of modern celebrations.
On a recent morning, inside their Deerfield Beach building, Shaun leads a walk through the display room and into the design area, where florists are assembling arrangements for weekend events.
