French Florist has opened its first Midwest location in Indianapolis, Indiana. The new boutique is an expansion for the floral company and brings its aesthetic to the heartland through a partnership between two Indiana natives with complementary backgrounds.
The Indianapolis location is locally owned and operated by Joe Viater and Kadi Miller, whose friendship and entrepreneurial drive led them to bring French Florist's elegance to their home state. Miller brings extensive floral experience and artistic vision to the venture, having previously worked as an art teacher where she cultivated creativity and self-expression in her students. Her artistic background informs her approach to floral design, where she skillfully blends color, texture, and composition to create distinctive arrangements.
Viater contributes strong business credentials to the partnership, including a Purdue University degree, Stanford MBA, and extensive corporate experience. He previously established a career at Eli Lilly, launched a biotech hedge fund, and led a private equity backed software company before seeking a more community-oriented venture. The partners' paths connected through Viater's wife, Mollie, who has been close friends with Miller since middle school.
The new French Florist location at 1514 W. 86th Street in Indianapolis celebrated its opening on Wednesday, November 12th with operating hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The expansion represents French Florist's growing presence beyond its traditional markets and demonstrates the company's confidence in Midwest consumer demand for premium floral services.
