Anthura acquires Bromelia assets from Corn. Bak

Anthura and Corn. Bak have reached a binding agreement for the acquisition of Corn. Bak's Bromelia breeding and propagation assets. With this step, Anthura expands its Bromelia portfolio and specialist knowledge, while Corn. Bak repositions itself.

Corn. Bak has consciously chosen to focus: the company will now concentrate on breeding and propagating carnivorous plants and will also start seed treatment activities. Anthura sees Corn. Bak's Bromelia assets as a valuable addition to its existing offering and expects to broaden its assortment, serving customers even better with high-quality starting material for Bromelia.

Mark van der Knaap emphasizes the importance of this step: "This acquisition fits well within our strategy to expand our range of tropical ornamental plants. The Bromelia assets from Corn. Bak are a valuable addition to our current Bromelia offering. With our expertise, we can further broaden the assortment and breed from a substantial genetic base, thereby strengthening our position in the market."

Elly Bak of Corn. Bak adds: "We are proud of what we have built with Bromelia over the past fifty years. Through this acquisition, our knowledge and genetics are preserved, and our customers remain assured of a wide assortment and prospects for the development of new varieties. At the same time, we can fully focus on carnivorous and green plants and the development of our seed treatment activities."

In the coming period, Corn. Bak will gradually transfer the Bromelia assets, including knowledge and expertise, to Anthura. Both parties will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition for customers and suppliers, with continued attention to quality and delivery reliability.

AAB Corporate Finance mediated the sale of the assets.
